This is what the invitations looked like
It was just an open house because we invited and expected a lot of family we didn't have as many as we hoped for but it was still a lot fun. All the food was centered around the theme we had Swedish fish, cake balls dipped in green and brown chocolate, I got 2 Costco size bags of m&m's and sorted out the green and the brown ones. We also had these really cute animal cupcakes (refer to collage 2 below) oh and there was chips and salsa and some really yummy meatballs. To drink we just had water but I put some limes in the water because they were green and they went a long with everything. For decorations we had some really cute stuff that we gave to Rachael as baby gifts. I found some really cute camo bibs and put those along with a vase of green flowers and some blocks that said baby on them because Rachael didn't have a name for the baby at the time on the gift table. I along with assistance from my mom made a really cute blanket it was camo print on one side and just the black minx stuff on the other side. There also was a fabulous (if I do say so myself) diaper cake that had some really cute camo shoes on the top of the diaper cake. All in all the shower turned out really well it was a big hit.
These are the cupcakes I did for the shower. I think they turned out pretty cute. The squirrels were made of a regular size cupcake a mini cupcake and a cookie in an "S" shape for the tail. I made about 8 or so of them but they all survive the trip from my house to the church where we had it. Luckily we had a lot of reindeer and fish cupcakes to compensate for them. On the fish cupcakes the actual fish are goldfish crackers and I just used a leaf frosting tip to frost the seaweed on the side. For the reindeer it was just mini twisted pretzels that I broke and used those for the antlers and marshmallows for the eyes and mouth. I wanted the cupcakes to resemble hunting and fishing game and I think they worked out well.
