"The office" Reenactment

So my boss Dr. Prince is an avid "The Office" watcher. Its his favorite show. So my co workers and I thought it would be funny to take something of his and put it into jello like Jim did to Dwight with his stapler. Only we didn't know what to take that he wouldn't notice was missing. we eventuallydecided to take a big mouth model that is in a room he doesn't go into a ton. I took it home and made up the jello and brought it back to work and here is what it looked like. I put it in his office around 9 when he was with a patient and he didn't say anything about it till right before lunch. We didn't end up getting quite the reaction we were hoping for but he was kind of in the zone that day so that was probably why.. We still thought it was hilarious though!

Goodbye apartment 1

Shandon and I bought a house. Im so excited. It was definately a little weird going into close and realizing that in a few short moments i would sign away 3o years of my life, also be $135,000 into debt. But from what i hear if its for a house then its ok and its worth it because i am in a house! We didn't have very much time to move and say goodbye to our first apartment. We closed on tuesday Sept. 29 and we had to be out by like noon on thursday Oct. 1. It was kind of sad moving all of our stuff and saying good bye to this apartment. I didn't think it would be but we had spent two years here and have a lot of good/interesting memories from this place. Some crazy neighbors that would bring in the cops at four in the morning (oh good times),the parking lot you weren't sure if you would be able to park in because sometimes they would have more then their alloted two cars, and the driveway of death ( i don't think my car will ever recover from the first time i pulled into the driveway not knowing how bad it was)but hey what do you do...we were only paying $550 a month which is amazing for here in st. george and its something i can laugh about. goodbye apartment 1

Happy 25 Birthday Shan

My amazing husband turned 25 years old on September 28, 2009! Yes i know its been over a month and i should have posted this a while ago but i have been a little busy and i couldn't find the cords to my camera so its just going to have to be a month late. Shandons birthday was kind of low key this year for various reasons so we only had a little party for him. I made some Greek Pasta with chicken, salad (my mom actually contributed the salad) and some french bread for dinner. Shandon wanted some pie this year for his birthday so we had pie and icecream. Then he opened his gifts and everyone watched the movie the hulk..(good movie, not sure why that was the movie of choice but oh well) anyways thanks for all who came, and Happy 25 babe.

Enrichment Night

My mother in law needed to do a table and her enrichment night activity. The theme of the enrichment night was a festive table display of decorations and food items that each person doing a table would use for the specific month/ holiday they were assigned. Roxie signed up to do the Halloween/ October table. So she called in the "experts" my sister in law chrissy and i (not really experts thats just what my mother in law called us (which i think she did just to get us to do it)). We came up with some things that hopefully everyone at the enrichment night liked. We had Pumpkin Stew (which was delicious!), Apple cider a la mode (combination of apple cider and scoops of vanilla ice cream that floated on top), Eyeball cakeballs ( we had a cakeball recipe but you can also use donut holes and dip them in white chocolate and drizzle red frosting in squiggly lines to make the eyes look bloodshot and then a you put a chocolate chip in the center), Spice cake cookes (that we frosted and drew eyes on, spiders, webs, or there were some with BOO written on), Salty Bones-whats halloween without a skeleton! (the salty bones were made out of the premade breadstick dough that comes in those pilsbury cans cut 1 inch slits at each end of breadstick and fold the slits back and down and you kind of pinch them to where they look like bones. You lightly butter, add salt then cook following cooking instructions on breadstick can.) And last but not least the Hairy Daddy Long Leg cupcakes ( after you make the cupcakes frost them with chocolate frosting, add chocolate sprinkles to make them look hairy, add bassett allsorts black liquorice candy for the eyes, and liquorice rope cut into 4 inch strands and bend in half then stick them into cupcake for the legs.) Everything turned out great and everyone seemed to like what we had. So i think it turned out to be a success and i had fun putting it together but im also glad its over.
